The CCH replacement by DPB-P did not affect the
CP digestibility (P < 0.05), possibly because of the similarity
of the protein amount and quality in both rations
or possible urine contamination in the feces. The mean
digestibility coefficient of CP to the treatments was of
70.22%. Bandeira (1995),working with of pineapple byproduct
hay as unique food supply to sheeps, found a
digestibility of 48.76%. This superiority was related to
the high CP contents in the diet used, comparing to the
one used by Bandeira (1995) of 7.07%, once, according
to Nascimento (1970), generally there is positive correlation
between CP content and its digestibility.
There was no effect of the CCH replacement by
DPB-P in diets on the NDF digestibility (P < 0.05),
with average value of 62.06%. Rodrigues and Peixoto
(1990a,b) found values of 80.58% and 77.40%,
