It's not just a more expensive hitch. It's an entirely different way of controlling sway. Which is to create a pivot point closer to the rear axle by using geometry, and inherently have little to no sway to begin with. Any other type of system has sway present, it just tries to suppress it as much as possible by dampening the forces pulling it away from center tracking.
It shouldn't be thought of as an upgrade to lower cost sway control systems, because your current sway control isn't enough. It should be thought of as a different way of towing. Like people who prefer to tow with a fifth wheel for the control and the shorter overall combined length. Well, this feels like towing with a 5th wheel, except you don't get the shorter combined length.
