This is the first case report of this human treatment for
canine parvovirus. Yet in humans with immunodeficiency syndromes use of
human immunoglobulin has been known for years to have a highly effective
treatment against another closely related parvovirus 2.
12 months of foot and mouth opened many of our eyes to the desperate
plight of animals and about species as well as human interdependence. What
we propose is that more groups of medical and veterinary specialists work
together on common problems in co-operative research groups. In this case
Pablo the dog is the beneficiary but who knows maybe next time badly
needed insights into animal colitis or reflux disease will help to treat
us.
