The Assessment, Serial Evaluation and Subsequent
Sequelae of Acute Kidney Injury (ASSESS-AKI) study
(Go et al, 2010), based in hospitals across the US, and
the UK-based AKI risk in Derby (ARID) study (Horne
et al, 2014), are prospective observational studies
which aim to delineate the long-term natural history
of AKI and identify factors increasing the risk of
long-term complications.
