Table 1 lists the tests, test apparatus, and sample conditions
which may be performed by OSHA to determine the explosibility
and combustibility parameters of dust samples collected during
their site inspections.
The U.S. Bureau of Mines (see NFPA 499 section A.3.3.9) classifies
dust by its properties compared to a standard material, Pittsburgh
Coal, and defines “ignition sensitivity” and “explosion severity” as
