Studies show that adults
are usually committed to their health habits
and may not consider a change in lifestyle
(Horneffer-Ginter, 2008). A study by Nigg
et al. (1999) indicated that adults may not be
cognizant of the need to change their unhealthy
lifestyle, or they may not be convinced of the
association between behavior and healthrelated
outcomes. Although students may
receive content on the benefits of a healthpromoting
lifestyle in nursing courses, many
do not change their personal health habits
(Pawloski & Davidson, 2003).
