Sugar cane ash, used in this study, is predominantly of inorganic
nature, confirmed both by the low LoI (1.24%) after calcination
(1000 C, 2 h) and low amount of C from elementary analysis.
The chemical composition shows high amount of SiO2 and Fe2O3
with the presence of alkaline and alkaline-earth oxides (K2O,
CaO) and Al2O3. A comparison of the chemical composition
reported (Table 1) with the literature data
