in terms of superordinate or subordinate goals. Since a superordinate
goal is associated with relative abstraction, the “why” aspect of
the activity, a high-level construal is linked to the superordinate
goal. In contrast, the subordinate goal, associated with the specific
“how” aspect of an activity, is tied to the low-level construal.
Consideration of feasibility and desirability can be associated with
this hierarchy of goals. Desirability refers to the value of the action's
end state (i.e., the “why” aspect of an action), whereas feasibility
relates to the ease or difficulty of achieving the end state (i.e., the
