The present study indicated that the growth of Nile tilapia
broodstock was significantly affected (Pb0.05) by dietary protein
and energy levels (Fig. 1). Fish weight increased with increasing
dietary protein from 30 to 40%, at each energy level. Similarly, at each
protein level, increasing dietary energy resulted in an increase in
growth, particularly among males. Meanwhile, at 40% protein level,
excess energies (16.7 and 18.8 MJ/kg) lead to a sharp increase in fish
growth
