The springs vary both in compliance and eccentricity! This variation can be turned to our
advantage in my opinion, allowing for a better bounce if chosen carefully. For the three spring
locations, as anyone who sets up an LP12 will know, the position of the nut on the thread is far
further wound in up the bolt (hence greater compression of the spring) with the spring nearest the
arm, and is the least wound in on the spring carrying the least load, on the opposite end of the
sub-chassis near the motor.
