The effectiveness of cognitive behavior therapy is being
evaluated in patients with comorbid alcohol or substance
abuse (65, 66), in combination with atypical antipsychotics
(67), and in the earlier stages of schizophrenia (68, 69).
Further, cognitive behavior therapy may have a role in preventing
or delaying transition from a preschizophrenia
state to a full-blown diagnosis of schizophrenia (70, 71).
