Person with FEP were defined as those diagnosed by a
psychiatrist in NIMHANS with any non-affective psychosis of duration less than 5 years. The caregiver was defined
a person who is a family member or relative and was
actively involved in patient care and living with the patient
in the same home. The carers were included in the study if
they were at least 18 years or more and could speak
Kannada/Tamil/Malayalam or English language. All subjects were free of any major mental or medical illness.
