Disney’s 50th anniversary celebration at its parks and resorts increased attendance and hotel occupancy. International revenue growth reflected the first full year of theme park operations at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort as compared to the prior year when the park opened in mid-September 2005. Disney land Resort Paris also experienced increased revenues. Some of the increase in revenue was offset by the unfavorable impact of foreign currency translation as a result of the strengthening of the U.S. dollar against the Euro. Operating income from the Parks and Resorts segment increased 30 percent, or $356 million, to $1.5 billion. Exhibit 1-11 provides 2006 attendance figures for Disney theme parks. These parks accounted for almost 30 percent of Disney’s 2006 revenues, and reported a 30 percent increase in operating income
