54. The economic price of kerosene is calculated from the financial value of kerosene available to the consumers in the Project area. The economic benefit calculation considers that consumption of 0.025 liter per hour is equivalent to energy required for a 40 watt bulb. The long¬ run capital and maintenance costs of a kerosene lamp are assumed equivalent to installation of wiring in houses.
55. The financial price for kerosene has been obtained from data samples from typical villages provided for a 75 cl kerosene container (see Table 10). The average of B12.0 per 75 cl container gives B 16.0 per liter, or $0.64 per liter.
