The respondents in this research were high school teachers in Osjecko – baranjska county. Osjecko - baranjska county has 33 secondary schools. From that number of schools, the schools of national minorities, in this case Hungarian schools, as well as schools of music were excluded from the research because of their specific curriculum.
The survey dealing with use of information and communication technology and innovative use of information and communication technology in education encompassed teachers from 50% of secondary schools in Osijek, as well as 50% of other secondary schools inside county.
In the period of 2008/2009 school year, total of 600 questionnaires were distributed across secondary schools and 371 of them were fulfilled and returned.
The majority of respondents in research were female teachers even 73.3% (272). Almost all teachers in research responded that they had access to computer and Internet in school and at home. Only 20% of teachers in time of conducting the research used computer two years or less.
It should be mentioned that the majority of teachers, 56.3%, responded that they did not learn to use computer during the faculty but 54.4% of teachers passed some kind of ICT education in recent 4 years.
