The Nāga generally has the form of a great cobra-like snake, usually with a single head but sometimes with many. This serpentine creature is said to live in the Mekong River. The Naga fireballs are a natural phenomenon seen in the Mekong river in which glowing balls rise from the water high into the air. The balls are reddish and have diverse size from smaller sparkles up to the size of basketballs. The Nāga is a Buddhist religious symbol and is depicted in many temples. It represent the symbol of faith, fortune, and immortality.
