For the past few years, service industry has turned into the new engine triggering the growth of new economy. World-wide
companies are carrying out large investment on service innovation. As a result, service science has become the core of both the
academic and practical domains globally, which uses scientific and systematic methods to analyze, manage, and promote service
productivity or build up service innovation framework. Thus, Taiwanese industries conformed to the new economic trend of the
times, many traditional manufacturing-oriented industries transformed to service-oriented ones. However, obsolete service can no
longer meet customers’ demand and service contents and quality need to be highly considered. Therefore, service science which
improves productivity and encourages innovation with scientific methods has become an important issue.
