Terase et.al. (1993) mentioned that calcium carbonate
can be easily handled thus it is widely used in hydrogen
fluoride plants. Regarding this work, the reaction of
calcium carbonate with hydrogen fluoride solution was
carried out in the pH range 1.0 to 4.5. A precipitate
started to form at pH 3.0, and calcium carbonate was
added with continuous stirring until the pH value reached
4.5 to assure complete precipitation. The XRD analysis
of the obtained precipitate revealed that it only contained
calcium fluoride (ASTM card no. 4-0864).
