3.2. Immune response
The lysozyme activity, phagocytic activity, respiratory burst activity
and complement activity significantly increased when infected fish
were fed with 5% or 10% enriched diets only on weeks 3 and 4
(Figs. 3–6). But when infected fish were fed with 1%, 5%, and 10% diets
the respiratory burst activity measured with the superoxide anion production
(Fig. 7) increased significantly on weeks 3 and 4 when compared
with control. The serum bactericidal activity also increased
significantly in infected fish was fed with any dose of supplementation
diet as compared with control (Fig. 8). The anti-protease activity significantly
increased in 5% and 10% diets on week 3 while with all enriched
diet on week 4 (Fig. 9).
