The analysis of the full dataset supports the monophyly of bats, and the major division of Chiroptera into Megachiroptera (Pteropodidae) and Microchiroptera with Yangochiroptera contained within the latter group (Figures 1-2).
The Macrochiroptera, or fruitbats (Pteropodidae), are in the main analysis sister to the remaining bats (Figures 2, 4a). Within Pteropodidae most genera are monophyletic, with the exception of Rousettus angolensis (synonym Lissonycterisangolensis ) nests with Myonycteris . Overall, these results are similar to results of previous studies on macrochiroptera phylogenetics
