Watches & Wonders 2015 attracted around 20,000 visitors, up 25 percent from the same period a year ago, despite a challenging global economic environment, the show's organisers said.
Recognised as the foremost Haute Horlogerie exhibition in Asia, the show’s four-day run in Hong Kong featured 12 world-class exhibitors. The buyers were led by visitors from Japan, Australia and China who took advantage of the Golden Week.
Fabienne Lupo, chairwoman and managing director of organiser Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie, commented “Fine watchmaking is expressed in these exceptional timepieces. It is equally a unique experience that takes us on a journey through the centuries, art and design and manufacturing expertise.”
Now on its third year, Watches & Wonders offered visitors guided tours, personalised presentations, watchmaking initiations, talks, and face-to-face meetings with watchmakers and craftsmen, and other exhibitions.
New timepieces, specifically developed for this year's edition of the show, were also launched at the event.
