“Making Libraries Accessible: Adaptive Design and Assistive Technology” discusses a range of commonly available
e-book formats and e-readers with an eye to their accessibility features.
About the Author
Ranti Junus is the systems librarian for electronic
resources at Michigan State University Libraries. She is
responsible for supporting the design and access organization of library materials as well as providing support in technical and access issues related to electronic
services and resources including purchased databases,
online catalog, and other digital resources. She serves
as systems and technical services liaison to public services, particularly in relation to the technical support
of electronic resources and user interfaces. She also
serves as the subject librarian for Library and Information Science and as the library liaison for the Museum
Studies program. She manages the library’s ongoing
human factors/Web usability and accessibility efforts
and maintains an awareness of Web standards and
technologies and their applications in academic libraries. Ranti is the past chair of ACRL Universal Accessibility group and the co-chair of LITA Accessibility
Interest Group. She received her computer science
bachelor degree from Case Western Reserve University
in 1995 and her MS in library and information science
from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
