Among many parameters influence reinforced concrete behaviour under an earthquake, bond behavior of steel bars embedded in low-strength concrete is of most interest in this study. Therefore, the research presented herein is aimed at investigating bond behavior of low strength concrete using a pull-off test compared to those embedded in normal strength concrete. The better understanding of bond behavior of steel bar embedded in low strength concrete could be further used to improve the design and construction method to reduce the risk of bond failure in sub-standard concrete structure.
