Systems have been introduced, such as the MOTIVATE
Intelligent Digital Actor System[6], that attempt to synthesize
motion dynamically and model high-level behaviors.
However, we do not believe that any physical simulation
is being performed at the lower levels of motion.
Many existing strategies attempt to parameterize existing
motion kinematically to adapt it to different situations.
Such strategies do not offer true interactivity, as the parameterized
motion is still inherently related to a limited
set of pre-recorded actions.
