form by mixing with a sodium hypochlorite solution before the reaction with OPA so that they can react with OPA. So,
on this system, amino acids containing imino acids can be batch-analyzed by using a sodium hypochlorite solution as
the No.1 reaction reagent and an OPA solution containing thiol compound as the No.2 reaction reagent.
2-mercaptoethanol or ethanethiol has been used for a long time as the compound containing the thiol group. However,
it has been avoided because its foul smell. On this system, this is substituted with odorless N-acetyl-L-cysteine. Use of
this reagent also improves sensitivity with respect to proline.
