Use of PAni is known to offer the development of robust
biosensing platforms. However, most of the times, the functionalization
of PAni with biomolecules is not straight forward and
involves several steps. As already discussed above, the most
common route of conjugating biomolecules on PAni substrate
involves the use of cross-linkers such as EDC/NHS to covalently
bind the proteins with PAni surface [23,24]. Another approach
involves the use of polyaniline in conjunction with other functional
nanomaterials, such as gold nanoparticles [25,26].
