Global Beauties correspondents have been following the pageant since day 1, and can witness to such false and shameful allegations. Candidates are give an amazing variety of food and drinks for breakfast, lunch and dinner, including fruits, vegetables, different kinds of meat, Thai and international cuisine. Some have even put on some extra pounds!
MGI staff has taken the best possible care of all candidates, including Miss Kurdistan and Miss Russia, Ksenia Rozenberg, who has also left the competition.
The Russian candidate also claimed to be sick and was taken to the hospital, with MGI paying for all medical expenses. Miss Rozemnberg demanded a room for herself (she did not like any of the girls) and hated to travel on the bus, because in her own words, “the girls were too noisy”. Perhaps she should have bought an exclusive traveling package to Thailand, instead of competing in one of the globe’s leading beauty pageants!
The truth is that participating in a beauty contest is not like going on vacation or something of the kind. It’s all about hard work and discipline! They must wake up early, participate in several activities during the day, and many times go to bad late at night. Of course that there are moments of fun a leisure, but they must be professional and ready for all this. Mostly, it is expected from a beauty queen that she is kind and sociable.
Unfortunately, after Miss Kurdistan started posting lies on her social media accounts (MGI lawyers are already taking action and she will be sued, having to prove every single lie she has posted), some websites and forums ran by Filipinos who are eager to promote lower-class events, have taken advantage of it to try to put Miss Grand and other pageants down.
This practice is not new… These fans, who feel threatened by other events which have NOTHING to do with them, keep trying to destroy the reputation of other beauty competitions to bring up their own. At the same time, while using foul language and childish actions such as posting lies and rumours.
Perhaps they forget that one of the events they try to promote, has a world record of contestants who leave year after year. And they do it because of the questionable food (chicken with rice for almost a whole month!), low-rated hotels, and bad treatment by organizers (last year one candidate left after claiming she was sick and got no attention by organizers).
It is an absolute shame that Ms. Chupani had to resort to this behavior, specially after the province of Trat went out of their way to ensure that the contestants’ stay in their land was a fantastic experience.
Meanwhile, Miss Russia claimed that she was left at the airport with no money and no return ticket to Russia, this is not responsibility of the pageant but of her national directors. The pageant’s legal team is making sure that the proper steps are taken in this situation.
We at GB are 100% committed to the truth and therefore feel the need to clarify what really happened in Thailand.
Since day one, contestants of Miss Grand International have been posting on their social networks the wonderful experience that they are having in Thailand. The “fantards”, which is how they are called, believe the lies of 2 contestants – out of the good experiences of the other 79 – and refuse to see the good side of the event for the sake of their own psychological problems.
The Miss Grand Organizers will issue an official statement in the following hours.
Other than that, we only have to congratulate MGI for putting so much effort and making it the kind of competition serious pageant fans enjoy following. And let the competition continue…
