elevation in tissue incubation temperature
from 39#{176to} 43#{176}Cinduced a large reduction in
conceptus protein synthesis and secretion and stimulated
release of PGF by pregnant endometrium. These
in vitro results suggest that exposure of pregnant
cows to high environmental temperature and humidity,
as often occurs during summer months of the year,
may disrupt the balance between conceptus and
endometrial biochemical factors responsible for
maintenance of pregnancy.
