12.3 RISC Systems
RISC is an acronym for Reduced Instruction Set Computing. RISC is a processor design philosophy that has remove many CISC features which were occasionally used by the programs. The basic philosophy of the RISC architecture refers to the ‘careful allotment’ of the processor resources to the frequently used operations. Chapter 3 briefly reviewed the CISC and RISC concepts. This section provides a detailed account on the history of RISC and techniques followed in the RISC systems.
