With increasing environmental and ecological concerns to
reduce water pollutants from organic contaminants frequently
occurring from industrial waste water and oil spills, there is a
growing demand for more efficient, economical, and environmentally
conscious methods to remove oil contaminants or
improve oil−water separation. The use of 3D porous sorbent materials that possess outstanding absorption capacity, high
oil−water selectivity, and low density appears as a promising
approach.
