For testing preventive effects, the fungicides were added to the media 1 day before the pathogen spores were inoculated. The disease incidence was determined after a period of cultivation. For testing curative effects, the fungicides were added to the media 1 week after the pathogen spores were inoculated. Two fungicides were tested for both their preventive and curative effects. On the basis of primary experiments in vitro and in vivo (the results are not shown), two fungicides (prochloraz and carbendazim) were selected to control tomato wilt disease. The concentration of prochloraz in nutrient solution was 0.4 μg/ml, while that of carbendazim in nutrient solution was 5 μg/ml.
