The commonest families in the old secondary forest,
in terms of numbers of stems, were Melastomataceae
(14.71%) (all of which were Pternandra
caerulescens Jack), Hypericaceae (10.72%) (all of
which were Cratoxylon arborescens (Vahl) Blume)
and Dilleniaceae (10.72%). In terms of basal area, the
highest values were for Hypericaceae (31.53%), Dipterocarpaceae
(12.88%) and Euphorbiaceae (7.85%)
(Table 2).
