Therefore, in this study, its influence on the extraction yield was evaluated. It can be seen that (Fig. 3c, e and f), the yields of pectin increased with increasing solid–liquid ratios up to 1:16 g/ml, which was probably due to the fact, larger volume of extraction solvent causing excessive swelling of the materials (Guo et al., 2001) and absorbs the microwaves directly by the materials. So, the cell walls were ruptured, which resulted in easy release of pectin into the surrounding medium.
