Interviews with academics
The interviews with a assisted in broadening the view of make-or-buy and discussing new ideas for the development of the framework. A number of academics with relevant background on the research was initially approached. Four academics from the fields of manufacturing management, purchasing and supply chain management, strategic management and IT management(from the University of Luton, the University of Bath, Nottingham Trent University and Oxford University respectively) were interviewed. Semi-structured interviews were conducted. The interview with each person lasted about 60 minutes and they covered the following issues:
