To all CCE’s/PMO’s Wave 2 countries,
The Global Steering Committee has decided that all countries should start deploying the Monthly Inventory Planning Practice, which consists of setting every month sales and DIO targets per vendor code. Setting DIO targets every month is a necessary condition to achieve our country and global WC targets. This practice is listed as one of the 19 ‘should do’ actions.
As an outcome of this practice, every country will have a report, called Stock Dashboard (see Excel attachment). The Stock Dashboard is daily report that tracks per vendor code:
• MTD Sales results and trend vs sales targets
• MTD BOH results vs BOH target
• Actual DIO result vs DIO target
• MTD Receipts vs Targeted Receipts for the month; this data point gives the indication if you are receiving more than what you are allowed based on your target
• What the BOH will be at the end of the month, based on the sales trend and the scheduled deliveries of the vendor backlog
Besides the tracking of these data points, the report gives an overview of the he ageing of the in inventory. All the data can be aggregated per business unit, or product line, product manager or buyer, depending on your the structure of your local organization.
And importantly, the Stock Dashboard will assist you in our decisions to which vendors the ‘Revoke license to buy’ should apply.
The purpose of my mail is to ask for your support in deploying this practice and installing this daily Stock Dashboard in your country. I am available to set up a work session with the Purchasing Lead and the local PMO in charge of the WC reduction project to explain the process of the Monthly Inventory Planning Practice (see Word document in attachment) and to help setting up the reporting requirements for this daily Stock Dashboard. Having a unique format of the Stock Dashboard will make it easier for all of us to read and interpret the results and targets of our country inventories.
I invite you to have a look at both documents in attachment. If you have questions about the practice and the process for deployment, please let me know.
Best regards,
