To be able to operate a business with foreign partners, SMEs are required to obtain the knowledge and understanding of situations related to international trade, especially agreements under the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) that will affect the business operations of all business sectors. It is also significant in supporting the improvement of SMEs’ business operations so that they are able to prepare themselves for the increasing competition, both domestically and internationally. Moreover, this strategy highlights the promotion of the capability of SMEs and the expansion of international trade and investment opportunities for SMEs, as well as the support of the creation of networks of cooperation with businesses in foreign countries.
