The particleidentification deviceshouldoffertheK=π separation
capabilityofmorethan4s in themomentumregionfrom1to
3.5 GeV/c. Ithastooperateinsidethesolenoidalmagnetic field of
1.5Tandduetoaverylimitedavailablespaceitshould fit intothe
gap of280mm.During10yearsofexpectedoperationtheaerogel
RICH willbeexposedtohigh fluences ofneutrons.Thedetector
should thereforebeabletowithstandaneutron fluence of1012 of
1 MeVequivalentn/cm2 and aradiationdoseofabout100Gy.
Toachievetheexpectedperformance,onaveragemorethan10
photonshavetobedetectedperchargedparticle.TheRICHwill
