evaluated the CO2 capture process by aqueous ammonia with an equilibrium based electrolyte model, focusing on the thermal performance of the ammonia regeneration process and the operating conditions. Simulation results showed that the regeneration energy could be less than 2.5 MJ/kgCO2, and the high regeneration energy at the Munmorah pilot plant above mentioned could be explained by the low NH3 concentration of aqueous ammonia solution, indicating that the pilot plant needed to be further optimized with respect to the energy efficiency.
