A persuasive essay is an argumentative paper trying to sway the reader's opinion towards your own. Persuasive essays can range from controversial topics such as abortion, to every-day opinions such as "french fries are better than potato chips.
The main point of a persuasive essay, is to convince the reader to think the same way you do. Remember that it is not an informative essay, and try not to include conversational tone. Your thesis and supporting statements should be strongly written. In a persuasive essay, never use "I" statements, such as "I believe, or I think." because it makes your opinion sound more one-sided and weak. State your opinions as if they were facts, even if they are just your own opinions.
