technology. Through its TasteSolutions programme, the company aims to gain insights on the level
of performance consumers expect in food products, whilst remaining sensitive to local cultures,
preferences and health requirements. Through this program, it helps food manufacturers and
processors reduce salt or enhance sweetness, while maintaining consumer taste preferences.
Through other initiatives like Chef’s Council, the company's experts collaborate with culinary experts
from all over the world and exchange ideas. Similarly, the fragrances division engages in research
programmes to develop new molecules and unique naturals by investigating flowers, fruits, spices
and plants.These research and technological capabilities help the company in providing flavors and
fragrances in line with its customer requirements. For instance, in FY2014, the company launched
TasteSolutions Richness, a new generation of flavor solutions that capture the authentic flavors of
home-made cooking for use in prepared foods.This new technology will help Givaudan’s customers
meet the growing demand for healthier and more convenient meal options with delicious flavors.
Furthermore, the company’s fragrance division launched Mahonial, a new ingredient. Also in FY2014,
Givaudan expanded the use of its encapsulation technology, a fragrance delivery system that offers
the controlled release of scents, to include deodorants and beauty care. The expanded application
of this technology demonstrates the company’s efforts to offer integrated solutions to its customers.
