At this site the majority of the fish (85±
14%; Fig. 5a) were swimming counter-clockwise at a depth of ≥1.5 m.
Interestingly, the swimming effort (1.1±0.1 tb s−1) of the Georgie Lake
fish was not different when compared to the Dalrymple fish (P=0.56;
Fig. 5c). In fact, despite considerable differences in rearing density the
relative fish densitywas not different between Dalrymple and Georgie
Lake fish (P=0.75; Fig. 6). Darting and flashing were minimal and not
different between sites (Dalrymple fish=1.3±1.7 min−1; Georgie Lake
fish=0.9±1.8 min−1; P=0.61; Fig. 5b).
