This is the phase during which all the data/information gathered or generated through ‘exploration’ is used to make sense of the phenomena being explored; synthesize scientific concepts and principles; introduce new scientific vocabulary; develop definitions; generate explanations; and formulate answers to lingering questions, solutions to problems,or ways to scientifically address specific issues. Most often, this is the phase where the teacher may use interactive lectures and discussions to help students understand the topics intended in the lesson, see their connections to real life, and appreciate the interconnectedness as well as interdependence of the STEM disciplines in addressing these real life issues.
