Whole plants of T. portulacastrum L. and leaves of M.

Sahiwal (Punjab, Pakistan) during a survey (previous
part of author’s research), identified and authenticated by
a botanist by comparing with the specimens stored in the
herbarium of Department of Botany, University of Agriculture,
Faisalabad, Pakistan. The voucher specimen numbers
0110 (Trianthema portulacastrum L. whole plant) and 0135

of Hussain et al. (2008), were stored in the Ethnoveterinary
Research and Development Centre (EVRDC), Faculty
of Veterinary Science, University of Agriculture, Faisalabad,
Pakistan. Plant materials were processed through heat drying
in an oven at 40 ◦C, ground to a fine powder and stored
in polythene bags at 4 ◦C until use (Jabbar et al., 2007
