vendors and researchers to understand the key influential factors (e.g. cell load, cell sizes) and components of a base station's power consumption and to derive power consumption models for different base station typ es and technologies [2], [3], [4]. On this basis, the industry focuses on the development of more energy-efficient components (like load adaptive power amplifiers, economic cooling equipment, etc.) while researchers
propose different energy saving concepts for cellular networks and evaluate their saving potential.
