However, we (Alaskan Eskimos) have not completely forgotten the old ways. Some of my friends still hunt Caribou. Older Eskimos teach young ones traditional songs and dances. Every summer Eskimo families travel hundreds of mile to the place where our ancestors fished. At these ancient fishing places, we fish with a spear -- the same way our ancestors fished. While we are at these fishing places, we can feel the spirits of our ancestors. It makes us feel good to be so close to the people and traditions of our past
