Who are the Rohingya people?
They are a Muslim ethnic minority in Burma described by the United Nations as one of the most persecuted people on the planet.
The Rohingya say they are descendants of Arab traders and have lived in Burma's Rakhine region for hundreds of years.

But the government considers them illegal Bangladeshi immigrants and denies them citizenship, leaving them effectively stateless and living in apartheid-like conditions.
Neighbouring Bangladesh - where Rohingya have been fleeing to for generations - does not recognise them either.
There are around 300,000 Rohingya living in squalid conditions in Bangladeshi refugee camps, according to the US Campaign for Burma.
There have been violent clashes between the Rohingya and Burma's Rakhine people in recent years.
Human Rights Watch claims Burmese authorities encouraged the attacks on the Rohingya in a campaign of ethnic cleansing.
