Instagram eyebrows should be illegal," according to a video from makeup artist Wayne Goss. Oooookay, but what are Instagram brows, exactly?
Basically, they're sharply angled brows with fading intensity. "It is sometimes referred to as the ombré brow," Reagan explains. "Although some might find it fun and stylish, others may find it to be too artificial-looking." Either way, he notes, "it's definitely a trend."
For a universally flattering and modern look, Reagan recommends using your natural brow shape as a guide when shaping. ("It’s about fine-tuning rather than re-creating," he says.) After cleaning up stray hairs with a tweezer, choose a powder shadow or long-wearing brow pencil that matches your hair. "Using small strokes, apply color throughout the brow leading with the shorter side of the brush head or pencil," he says. "If paired with a spoolie brush on the other end, groom hairs into place." If even this sounds like too much work, there's always a shortcut: brow gel.
