When the EOs of L. alba + L. origanoides were mixed, the
larvicidal effect was boosted. This effect was due to the
different forms of action of the components of these plants
that act on the mosquito. So far, the synergistic roles of the
various EOs, in comparison with the action of one or two main
components of the oil, are not understandable, as research is
required in order to evaluate the action of the mixture, with
only components and with variations in accordance with the
concentrations of each compound. This is also the case because the insecticide effect can be modulated by the other
minor components that may be in the EO.
