The economic analysis on health is increasingly, since resources are scarcer and there is a competition for sectors of different needs. For administrators of public Health can make appropriate choices, it is necessary to have knowledge of the costs and possible alternatives. Without systematic analysis, it is difficult to clearly identify the relevant alternatives.
The administrative and management activities are skills of nurses; therefore, it is necessary a broad knowledge of all stages in which are involved the surgical procedures to comprise practical strategies in an attempt to facilitate the completion of the surgery and the reduction of harm to the patient and society, making it thus an agent facilitator of the system.
In addition to the administrative activities, the nurse has the function of monitoring the patient in the preoperative period. Preoperative patient assessment, in relation to the vital signs and specific laboratory tests,is essential,as it allows the detection of diseases hitherto suspected, correction of diseases hitherto suspected, correction of changes so that the surgical treatment or even be contraindicated in the procedure, in addition of preoperative anxiety and postoperative pain, especially of pre-surgical morbidity.
