IT Systems Engineer
Job Description & Qualifications The individual will report to the ITO Site Manager and will be responsible for the support and maintenance of the Server and Application related infrastructure for the FTM Facility.
Principal Responsibilities and Duties
· Support all governance processes (ICR/ACR/SCRP) related to applications and I.T. Infrastructure
· Work in a complex matrix organization
· To Liaise and coordinate with Various Global application and Infrastructure teams to ensure the continuous operation of the various solutions.
· Recognize and adhere to demanding aggressive timelines imposed – ie. Being able to work under the stressful conditions due to the demand
· Adapt to the varying changes and demands from Business
· Understand and be proficient in the Global/APA Application landscape and system functionality
· Support configuration changes and application support related to server/application Production issues encountered on a daily basis
· Wintel & Unix server support.
· Management and support of locally deployed plant-floor manufacturing applications (configuration, release upgrades, etc.),
· Provide daily system health report-out, both servers and applications.
· Ensure I.T. DR plans are tested annually (where applicable) and that DR facilities are checked for 100% operation & tape backups and loads.
· Develops, implements and maintains the overall integration of the computing platform (e.g. hardware, systems software, operating systems, storage) for hosts and/or clients
· Provides escalated support and troubleshooting for system hardware, software, and/or operating systems
· Follows local and corporate system engineering standards and best practices
· Vendor interaction and/or collaboration for technical support is typically required
· Interaction with IT professionals such as Network Engineers, Security & Control Engineers, and Architects
· Customer interaction for problem resolution
· Implements configuration of software and/or hardware (e.g. SAN, Client, Host) on one or more platforms
· Interact with management to present technical subjects
Candidate Qualifications:
•Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in a technical discipline
•Master's degree work in a related technical field is desirable
•Minimum of 5 years of experience
Preferred Previous Experience:
•Analytical analysis of Server Problem solving, technical analysis and a good solid understanding of the latest antivirus products.
•Knowledge in all Microsoft related Server product packages, engineering software and related knowledge of engineering processes within a manufacturing environment.
•Relevant Project Management skills
•Management skills as the person may manage others within the IT department.
•Ability to interact with Global teams and be able to provide immediate resolution when required.
Behavioral Skills:•Superior English communication skills and proven ability to work under pressure of delivery as well as timelines.
•Good analytical skills, problem solving abilities and willingness to work hard in support of the overall project effort.
Ability to create documentation of the infrastructure implementation to assist in training of later recruited staff and ongoing support of the environment
•Willing to work on various shifts and capable of working overtime, weekends, or holidays on short notice
